4 cups water, divided
4 hibiscus tea bags (or 1/2 cup dried hibiscus petals)

2 cups ice cubes
Lemon slices and fresh mint sprigs (optional, for serving)

Instructions

Boil 2 cups water in a kettle or saucepan
Steep tea bags/petals in a pitcher with boiling water for 8–10 minutes until deeply ruby-colored
Juice lemons and measure 1/2 cup sugar while tea steeping
Remove tea bags/strain petals, then dissolve sugar into warm tea
Stir in remaining 2 cups cold water and lemon juice until flavor is balanced
Chill 20–30 minutes, then serve over ice with mint and lemon garnishes

For a sparkling twist: Add 1/2 cup chilled sparkling water before serving
Adjust sweetness by adding sugar/ice as needed
Opt for raw sugar or yellow sugar for visual appeal
